CHINON BLANC 2020 - BERNARD BAUDRY

0,75 L White Wine / France / Loire / Chinon AOC / 13 % vol / 100% Chenin

AB (organic wine)
This balanced, vibrant Chinon Blanc with a super-invigorating limestone framework has an almost secretive production!
This Domaine Blanc vintage is a charming wine with notes of white fruit and citrus. The fruit is very ripe and lively from the Chenin variety, made more dynamic by the strong, savoury limestone hints. It is dry but offers a fullness that makes it enjoyable to drink young. The slow fermentation over several months in 500-litre barrels is intended to develop a style that's both pure and seductive. A really lovely Chenin that purists - and others - will adore!

BERNARD BAUDRY

Coming from a family of winegrowers from Cravant les Coteaux, Bernard Baudry decided to set up on his own in 1975 at the head of a small 2 hectare estate. Matthieu, his son, studied in Mâconnais and then in Bordeaux. After a year of internship in Tasmania and then in California, he decided to join the family estate in 2000. The estate now has 32 hectares of vines in the Chinon AOC, in the towns of Cravant les Coteaux and Chinon. The grape variety mainly cultivated is Cabernet Franc (around 90%) to which is added a small production of Chenin Blanc (around 10%). The vines are located on very varied soils of gravel in the plain, limestone clay on the slopes and sandy limestone on the plateaus. The diversity of the Domaine's terroirs offers the possibility of applying parcel vinification. The entire vineyard has been organically grown since 2006.
