LEAVE YOUR REVIEWPleasant red from Languedoc. Full bodied, complex, mineral. Medium tannins. Explicit blackberries aroma. Delicate and balanced. Good to pair with red meat, barbecue.
Love this and find it exceptionally good value.
Enjoyed with roasted leg of lamb . Have found some Fitou quite overpowering but this is great ...quite robust but smooth.
I had not realised how strong this was (15.5%). I have laid down five of the six, I bought them for winter evenings and beef casseroles where I think it will go brilliantly.
Another good wine from Jeff Carrel. This Fitou is powerful with peppery and woody notes
An unexpected dream. A thunderbolt!
Fifteen and a half degrees of pure pleasure, as soon as it was opened it flooded the room with its scent, and if I add to that the fact that I got it at a discounted price thanks to the fair, I'm really excited!
A good fitou, even very surprising. A very nice roundness with a strength for a Languedoc. The quality to price ratio is very good.
Wow... what a wine.... great fruit... very nice nose... and in the mouth... fat... full and round.... the 15.5% Alc. don't bother and you don't notice them either ..... a hammer !
I tried Jeff Carell for the first time, it is good to drink but I am a little disappointed, I expected more.
Good for the money.
Powerful and round on the palate, Jeff Carrel par excellence. However, for once, I find that you can really feel that this is a wine with a high alcohol content.
Being a lover of Jeff Carell's wines this Under the Mountain was exactly in line with Jeff's wines. It's a great value and I recommend it.
Fitou 2019 tasted in early 2023. To be aired for a long time or to be decanted because of its power! Nose of ripe fruit, spices. After aeration, it's full on the palate, the tannins are present but not aggressive! I wouldn't say "light", but the 15.5% goes down well.
A nose that is not very expressive for me, perhaps it should be decanted? On the palate, freshness but still a lack of length, too light to accompany a stew, perhaps to be associated with a simple toasted meat.
Intense Ruby; medium+ intensity nose, black fruit/ jam (blackcurrant, plum, blueberry), vanilla, clove, coconut, coffee, wine still young
Good/Very Good
Vintage 2019, tasted in early 2023. Very powerful, even 1h30 after opening. Lots of fruit, even a little roundness. The 15.5° is nevertheless (too) noticeable.
Wine with a very good smell of black fruit, blueberry, redcurrant, dry in the mouth with very good acidity, very balanced, you can hardly notice its high alcohol, touches of wood, very present the shiraz grape, to repeat.
For lovers of powerful wines. A nice length on the palate, I preferred the previous vintage but it is still a success!
A true Fitou: black fruits, cherry/blackberry and power but with good balance, a typical wine from the Corbières region: a wonderful discovery!
A strong, full wine with excellent structure and surprising persistence. Recommended with important red meats and game. I think its value for money is really good! I will definitely buy it again
It's good, full and powerful. Even better because I managed to wait a little while. Chewy, with black fruit and a hint of spice. A wonderful discovery.
An interesting and original wine with plenty of body. This wine goes well with a good piece of cheese. This Fitou is a pleasure to drink.
Blend of the languedoc of the master Jeff Carrel that presents itself in the very dark ruby glass, on the nose a triumph of red and black jammy fruits, on the palate the high alcohol content is perfectly balanced by freshness, fruity finish with long persistence
Strong wine with lots of body. Very interesting with a good piece of cheese and red meat. I think its quality to price ratio is really good.
A great wine, very high quality, from crus renowned for quality and exquisite taste. Many French wines are excellent but unattainable to the palate, due to rarity and exaggerated cost. But thanks to Vinatis you can taste the best at truly honest prices!
Enjoyed on many occasions, most recently with a confit of lamb. A perfect match. Powerful but not overpowering, with plenty of finesse and roundness. The 2019 vintage is top-notch!
I find it hard to beat Jeff Carrel's entire range in terms of quality to price ratio. A very good, powerful wine, perfect with good cheeses.
With a majority of sun-drenched grape varieties and a price that decreases with the quantity ordered, this Fitou from Jeff Carrel goes everywhere and will delight many people.
This Fitou is quite characteristic of this appellation. It is very powerful and fruity, and the 15.5° alcohol is a little too strong for my taste.
The wine is good, but we didn't manage to match it with our dinners.
"Eclectic winemaker", this is how Jeff Carrel defines himself. This oenologist, who can turn his hand to anything spreads his adivices in the vineyards, as well as in the winery or marketing strategy. In 2007 he sets up his own consulting firm in identity communication to assist wineries to enhance their specific features and productions. He then builds a very specific wine range with strong personality.
