LES DEMOISELLES DE LARRIVET HAUT-BRION 2016 - SECOND WINE OF CHATEAU LARRIVET HAUT-BRION

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Bordeaux / Pessac-Léognan AOC / 13,5 % vol

A very fine second wine that you absolutely must try!
The second wine of the Château Larrivet Haut-Brion, Les Demoiselles de Larrivet Haut-Brion exhibits a beautiful, limpid and brilliant ruby colour. It gives off a very elegant nose framed by red fruit and stone fruit aromas, with spicy and smoky notes. The attack on the palate is supple and balanced. The palate is rounded and fruity, leaving behind a beautiful finish with round tannins. Accessible sooner than the Château's main wines, discover the taste of breaking free with this excellent second wine!

CHÂTEAU LARRIVET HAUT-BRION

Initially called "Château de Canolle", then successively "La Rivette" and "Brion-Larrivet", it was not until 1874 that the Pessac-Léognan property acquired its almost definitive name. Now called "Château Haut-Brion Larrivet", it belonged to Ernest Laurent, a merchant in the Place de Bordeaux. In 1893, Château Haut-Brion-Larrivet became the property of Bordeaux shipowners, Messrs Les fils de Théodor Conseil. Expanded and developed, the property then had 50 hectares of vines. In the 1930s, the crisis in viticulture and successive uprooting of vines had a negative impact on production, which became almost non-existent. In 1949, the property finally found its name: Château Larrivet Haut-Brion. Its new owner, Mr Guillemaud, acquired the entire vineyard in 1941. He remained the demanding and attentive owner until 1982. Since 1987, acquired by the Gervoson family, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion has regained the viticultural unity it had at the beginning of the century: the château, its 13-hectare park, its farm buildings and 42 hectares of vines in production, as well as 18 hectares that were once planted with vines and which have gradually been replanted.
