LES QUARTERONS 2018 - CLOS DES QUARTERONS

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Loire / St Nicolas de Bourgueil AOC / 12,5 % vol

AB (organic wine) Biodynamic Demeter (biodynamic label)
Elegance and deliciousness are the watchwords for this signature vintage from Clos des Quarterons!
Biodynamic cultivation practices have brought out the vibrancy of this red wine that's made from vines grown on the lowest section of the Saint-Nicolas slopes. It has a fresh feel with crisp fruit and a lightness of texture that's silky and very pleasant. The finish is really fruity, where stoned fruits like cherry are expressed over a lovely length. A seductive wine with incredible finesse for this price point!

CLOS DES QUARTERONS

The emblem of the vineyard, Maison Amirault was built in the early 1800s and acquired by Xavier's great-great-grandfather in 1830. But it was in 1893 that Octave Amirault, the great-grandfather. Xavier's father makes it a wine estate. Today the estate covers 37 hectares. Guided by their convictions and a strong desire to respect the environment, the Amiraults make living wines. Working with common sense and simplicity to preserve the environment, they have chosen biodynamic agriculture. A pedological study was carried out on the whole area which made it possible to identify 12 units of terroir which are each worked according to their own needs.
