INITIUM ROUGE 2017 - DOMAINE FONTANEL

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Languedoc-Roussillon / Côtes du Roussillon AOC / 14,5 % vol

Grower Champagne
Powerful yet delicate, we can't resist this red that's packed with character! Acclaimed by the Hachette Guide, its quality is recognised by everyone.
Made from 70-year-old Carignan vines, this wine is a marvellous ambassador for the best Roussillon terroirs. We notice all its power in its tannins, the hallmark of a well-crafted wine. Yet we also enjoy the roundness and fruit provided by the Grenache grapes and the distinctive, clean aromatic character of the Syrah/Shiraz variety.

DOMAINE FONTANEL

Domaine Fontanel, located in Tautavel, on the foothills of the Corbières, between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees, covers 30 hectares, 20 of which are in vines. Since 1864, six generations of winegrowers have endeavored to perpetuate the ancestral agricultural vocation of this small region in the North of Catalonia and to make the most of a predestined terroir. In 1989, Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontanel created the Domaine Fontanel, the fruit of the merger of their two families. In 2017, Elodie and Matthieu Collet took over, accompanied by Pierre.
