A fruity Bordeaux with a lovely silky texture, and flavours of redcurrant, chocolate and nuts. The structure is balanced and pleasant thanks to a good chewiness and silky tannins. A real pleasure wine at a small pricemore reviews

"Deep, generous and well-structured, the palate is rich, full-bodied and structured over blackcurrant, black plums and pepper" - Decanter -
Henri Ducourt bought a few hectares of vines in the area around Cessac. This estate is made up of a number of hamlets, including one known as Redon which gives its name to the soft, rounded shapes in the landscape - "Redon" means "round" in the Occitan dialect. With a dark ruby-red colour, Château Redon reveals aromas of ripe red fruits, a hint of violet mixed with some spice notes. On the palate, the attack is soft and fruity with a pleasant lingering finish. A complex wine capable of revealing various flavours when paired with selected cured meats but equally with slow-cooked dishes.

Head for Saint Emilion for this silky, ruby-coloured wine with a generous fullness on the palate that reveals all its power for ageing. Note a strong spicy note which is very pleasant. It can be kept for ten years without any problem.

FAMILLE DUCOURT

By becoming the owner of the Château des Combes, the Ducourt family settled in 1858 in the hamlet of Hourc, commune of Ladaux, a small rural village in Entre-Deux-Mers to the south-east of Bordeaux. Pierre Ducourt, then his children and grandchildren then worked on the few hectares of vines on the property. The arrival of their grandfather, Henri Ducourt, on the estate marks a turning point for the company. With the help of three of his children, he will strongly boost his activity and make this family vineyard one of the largest wine-growing units in Bordeaux (480 hectares, 14 châteaux in 6 different AOCs).
