VIN SANTO 2009 - SAN GIUSTO A RENTENNANO

0,37 L White Wine / Italy / Tuscany / 9,5 % vol

"This wine is so singular that it is difficult to evaluate because it has virtually no equivalent (...) The length is eternal. Only 2,282 bottles were produced and I have just tried one of these unforgettable gems. " R. Parker
This incredibly rare bottle is certainly one of the greatest sweet wines in the world. Welcome to a walk through an exotic garden: papaya, mango, pineapple ... A delight for the senses! Softness and harmony characterise this great wonder. To achieve such complexity, the grapes are left to dry on a bed of straw in a well-ventilated room for 130 days and then pressed in a horizontal press. Next, the must spends six years in small chestnut casks sealed with wax (called "Caratelli") with a volume ranging from 40 to 180 litres and housed in a granary that is subject to significant variations in temperature. This is where the wines ferment and develop, during which up to 50% of the volume evaporates. This quintessence is accessible to a handful of wine lovers and Italians call them "Vino da Meditazione"!

SAN GIUSTO A RENTENNANO

The home of the Martini di Cigala family is a former Cistercian convent, transformed over the centuries into a fortress. From the best old Sangiovese vines cultivated with maniacal care, Luca Martini di Cigala produces great full and deep wines in the north of Siena. This exceptional Tuscan estate represents for many connoisseurs the highest level of quality that can be found in the historic region of Chianti Classico. For Luca Martini di Cigala, wine is not a product to be made, but the expression of a land, of a culture and the result of experiences gathered for generations. Sensitive in wine, this story is part of its quality.
