Way way too young, but just wonderful already. Often cited parallels with Cote Rotie are spot on. Structured but velvety texture, a sturdy acidic backbone and lots of depth and complexity show great promise for this label. There's almost a whiff of Burgundy about it (with more meat and darker).more reviews

IMPRESSIVE!! Comparable to the best Côte-Rôtie wines produced. Trust in the talent of Yves Cuilleron!
This 100% Syrah cuvée comes from vines from the Seyssuel hillsides in the north of Vienne on the Rhône's left bank (Ripa Sinistra in Latin). After 18 months of barrel maturation, this wine reveals the complexity of its bouquet amidst very ripe dark fruits, roasted notes and the elegance of its structure. The result is a great - very great - Syrah that will surprise more than a few. Introduce it blind - your guests won't get over it! Just like we couldn't!

CAVE YVES CUILLERON

Yves Cuilleron is to date the most important winemaker producer of the whole Northern Rhône. His estate, created in 1920 by his grandfather, extends over fifty hectares for about twenty references, particularly in Saint-Joseph, Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie. Yves Cuilleron is part of a winegrower's movement with a rare dynamism, completing and extending his estate while at the same time adding a signature to the style of his wines: the maturing in wood (9 months for the whites, 18 months for the reds) gives strength to the character, highlights each terroir and expresses real finesse. A true enthusiast, he is also one of the three founders of Les Vins de Vienne.
