BAROLO 2017 - DOMENICO CLERICO

0,75 L Red Wine / Italy / Piedmont / Barolo DOCG / 14,5 % vol / 100% Nebbiolo

"This is an elegant expression marked by the very soft barrels representing the truly refined style of Clerico" R. Parker
This is one the greatest successes of the appellation by a master of Nebbiolo: Domenico Clerico. The grapes come exclusively from Monforte d'Alba, some of the lower parts of Pajana and Per Cristina and other younger vines planted in Ciabot Mentin. The wine is aged in barrels for eight months, followed by another year in larger oak barrels. The classy bouquet of wine is unusually complex, the notes of roses and black ripe fruit perfume the glass with grace. On the palate we find a fleshy wine, while the velvety sensation highlights the subtle notes of fruit without becoming opulent thanks to the tannins that structure the wine. The finish is long and persistent, leaving delicious notes of wild berries in our astounded memory.

DOMENICO CLERICO

Domenico Clerico's estate was founded in 1978 in Monforte d'Alba in the heart of the Langhe when he inherited 3 hectares of vines and a small farm from his father. At the time the estate mainly produced fruit trees. Domenico saw the immense potential of his vines and decided to gradually buy vines on the finest wines of the region, listening to the wise advice of the elders who have spent their lives working in these vines. The selected vines benefit from south-western exposure and an altitude between 150 and 450 meters. Today Domenico puts all these efforts at the service of the vines and the wine. Its parcel approach (Burgundian style) has won over critics from all over the world and we are under the spell of these absolutely divine wines!
