A great classic and a stylish Brunello that will delight lovers of the appellation!
This Brunello wine has been produced since 1892 by Fattoria dei Barbi and its quality is regularly high. This is the "heart" of the Domaine's production made solely from the Sangiovese grapes planted in the best vineyards in Montalcino. The Brunello di Montalcino is an extremely clean and precise expression for those looking for a classic Sangiovese. The bouquet opens quickly to reveal the characteristic aromas of wild berries, candied cherry, liquorice and pressed blue flowers that are so beautifully linked to this powerful Tuscan grape variety. On the palate, the soft textures give way to a juicy freshness with a mineral touch, while the cherry and floral notes fill the mouth. The finish is long and mineral with a salinity that invites you to take another sip. A harmonious, complex and light wine that you absolutely must taste!

FATTORIA DEI BARBI

Fattoria dei Barbi covers 306 hectares in Montalcino and Scansano. Stefano Cinelli Colombini, heir to the ancient Sienese lineage present in Montalcino since 1352, manages the family property. The Cantina dei Barbi, which has been open for around 50 years, produces around 800,000 bottles of which approximately 200,000 are Brunello di Montalcino and the vast majority are Rosso di Montalcino and other wines. The vineyard area covers 66 hectares with a planting density of 5,000 vines. When you consider that a vine plant gives roughly the equivalent of little more than a bottle. La Cantina has one of Brunello's largest collections with wines dating from 1870 to the present day. Vivaio dei Barbi, a property which Fattoria dei Barbi acquired in 1997, is located in Scansano about 1.5 hours from Montalcino and producing mainly Morellino di Scansano DOCG (on 28 hectares of vines).
