LEAVE YOUR REVIEWA wine that does not yet show its full potential, but a tasting that suggests great things if you know how to be a little patient and reserve bottles for the next few years.
Never found such richness in this price range, in any type. Deep ruby with purple highlights. Vegetable part: musk, beetroot. Then plum, black cherry, vanilla, liquorice. Soft in the mouth with slightly caramelised tannins, intriguing rhubarb and smoky finish.
I loved this wine. A Bordeaux whose price is deceptive. It has an intense red colour, almost garnet, which anticipates the aroma of wild fruits that it leaves you with when you drink it.
Ideal with cured ham, fuet and cheeses.
It is an interesting wine, with aromas of dried leaves and small berries. It would be good to drink it cooler than room temperature. It will go well with game. Good find.
A great discovery! A powerful, fruity wine that goes very well with a cheese platter and game.
I will note however that it is not to be served to all palates because of its power.
100% Merlot grapes from Lalande de Fronsac, give origin to this Bordeaux of quite affordable price and very well proportioned. Red fruit like cherries, well wrapped in soft floral notes, give origin to a fresh, pleasant and gastronomic red wine.
A well-balanced wine, pleasant on the palate. At this price, I recommend it with my eyes closed. This little Bordeaux is perfect for a meat tasting with friends.
This wine does not yet show its full potential. It should be left in the cellar for a few years to develop its qualities, which will be appreciated.
Nicknamed the “Bad Boy” of Saint-Emilion by Robert Parker in the mid-2000s, thanks to his innovative approach and his extraordinary career, Jean-Luc Thunevin was able to create a place for himself and a reputation in the very closed world of wine. Bordeaux. In 2006, Jean-Luc Thunevin's daughter bought a property in Lalande de Fronsac which was renamed Le Domaine Virginie Thunevin or Enclos de Virginie.
