Established in 2001 in the town of Calce in Roussillon, Olivier Pithon cultivates his vines with pride and love. It is on this unique terroir between the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees and Corbières that he pampers old vines and newly planted vines, on about fifteen hectares: Macabeu, Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan grow there according to the principles of biodynamics. An organic culture which, from the beginning, was obvious to him, as much for the requirement of quality as as a choice of life. A global approach besides since he is interested in agro-forestry and arrived on the spot with his cow, his mare. This young winegrower benefited from the invaluable help of another enthusiast of the neighboring estate, the very demanding Gérard Gauby. Favorite for RVF, its first vintage confirms it in a very personal style: very accessible thirst-quenching wines, marked by a rich terroir between land and sea. Recognized for its work and the quality of its white and red wines, some plot-specific cuvées, Olivier Pithon has succeeded in less than 10 years to establish himself among the flagship estates of Roussillon. We follow it vintage after vintage.
