Pascal Marchand, originally from Montreal, Quebec, moved to Burgundy in 1983 after having fallen in love with the Burgundy terroirs and very quickly became manager of "Clos des Epeneaux" and will remain so from 1985 to 2000. He then took over the management of Domaine de la Vougeraie for 7 years. In 2006, it is the apotheosis, the creation of its own micro trade. In 2010, Pascal Marchand joined forces with Moray Tawse of Tawse Winery in Oregon to create "Marchand Tawse". Today, they vinify 51 appellations and 25 climates on the Côte de Beaune, the Côte de Nuit and the Chablisien. Both lovers of the land and the vine. They have been inspired by the principles of biodynamics for many years, except for the harvest, vinification, ageing and bottling are carried out at the estate. In a few words Marchand Tawse is: Micro cuvées, small yields, healthy grapes, whole bunches on certain vintages, the same principles as biodynamics, 22-month ageing in barrels according to the lunar calendar, indigenous yeasts, unfiltered and unfined wine. In short, values that arouse respect, rhyme with precision and result in very high quality wine. Pascal Marchand's paste is beautiful and always present, but this association of enthusiasts only embellishes these beautiful bottles of Burgundy.
