The vines cultivated at the highest altitude in Catalonia are those of the Castell d'Encus winery. In 2001, in order to find terroirs where the vines do not suffer from the effects of climate change, Raül Bobet chose landscapes of the Catalan Pyrenees (in the town of Talarn), located at an altitude that can reach 1,000 meters above sea level. Of the 95 hectares it owns, only 23 are planted with a wide range of varieties: white Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Sémillon and Albariño, and red Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Petit Verdot. The rest of the property are lush woods that surround the vineyards. The wines are worked in accordance with the specifications of organic farming without being certified. These wines are of equal rarity and are already present in the four corners of the world on the most beautiful tables. Vinatis benefits from a nice allocation that we are happy to be able to present to our amateur clientele!
