The Ferrer Bobet estate, located in the heart of the protected designation Priorat, between Falset and Porrera, was established in 2002 and represents the most ambitious regional project in the area in recent years. We are in Catalonia, in the northeast of Spain. The two protagonists Sergi Ferrer-Salat and Raül Bobet are local children. Ferrer-Salat had a career in industry but always dreamed of starting his own domaine. Bobet was for years chief oenologist for the talented winemaker Miguel Torres. The two friends opened this very well located estate between 2004 and 2006: it is not only splendid from an architectural point of view, built in stone and glass, but also has advanced techniques in the cellar and underground cellars. The main asset of the house remains the very steep altitude plots which are found in the cooler and windy areas of Priorat. All these specificities form "one of the most interesting wine projects in the whole region" (Guía Gourmets). The 22 hectares of vineyards are planted with Syrah, Grenache, Carineña (Carignan), Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier. In addition, the estate has ensured very old vines with a few contract winemakers who provide high quality grapes. Three wines are produced there: the château wine 'Ferrer Bobet', the cuvée 'Vinyes Velles' from old vines and the flagship of the house 'Selecció Especial', a single variety wine from Cariñena. We are proud to be able to present these author wines admired by the greatest sommeliers in the world.
