Black Mountain is a project of enthusiasts that saw the light of day in 2011, four friends from Toulouse who aim to produce great French whiskys in the South-West, on a plateau at an altitude of 1,000 m in the heart of the Black Mountain where the legend tells of the presence of a wild animal, half wolf, half boar. At the origin of the adventure, the discovery of a water source of exceptional qualities with a low mineral content, bringing together all the attributes essential to the development of excellent whiskeys. It is therefore on the border of Hérault and Tarn in the Regional and Protected Natural Park of Haut Languedoc that the future distillery will be located, allowing the whisky to age in ideal conditions. Pending this outcome, Black Mountain has launched a range of blended whiskys made with this pure water and matured in the south of France in very old Gascon spirits barrels.
