CHATEAU MONBOUSQUET 2014

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Bordeaux / Saint-Emilion Grand Cru AOC / 13 % vol

"Modern, yes, but firmly rooted in its terroir" - Wine Spectator
Château Monbousquet is in the masterful hands of Gerard Perse who has literally transfigured its wines. This wine therefore has a modern style with aromas of blueberry, blackberry and forest fruits. Fleshy, full-bodied but with soft tannins, its discreet acidity on the palate reveals the typical purity of the domaine’s wines. An exceptional Saint-Emilion!

MONBOUSQUET (Château)

Gérard Perse's purchase of Château Monbousquet in 1993 was a wonderful opportunity for this great domaine with a very long history, located some 500 metres to the south of Saint-Emilion. The wine that until then had occupied a very respectable mid-point in the great wines of Saint-Emilion, has been transformed into one of the leading wines of the appellation in a few years of management by its new owner. This has led Robert Parker to say: "Every Monbousquet produced under the leadership of Gérard Perse is outstanding. Currently, this vintage is probably the most exotic and sensual Saint-Emilion, if not in the whole of Bordeaux." In 2012, Gérard Perse sold the château walls to a mutual insurance company, Independent Retirement Fund for Doctors in France (CARMF), but he remains the head of the vineyard for the moment.
