BONNES MARES GRAND CRU 2018 - DOMAINE BRUNO CLAIR

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Burgundy / Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru AOC / 13,5 % vol

"The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine body and depth. The very mineral-driven, almost citric finish lingers in the mouth. Excellent." Vinous
One of the most famous Grand Crus of Burgundy in a great vintage. It is a frank, deep and intense wine. It reveals a gourmet nose of small black cherries, blackcurrant and a hint of vanilla. The palate is round, carried by very present but coated and silky tannins. The mouth is velvety and the finish endless! A charming, racy wine, built for ageing!

DOMAINE BRUNO CLAIR

Bruno Clair founded the vineyard which bears his name in 1979. A few parcels of Marsannay and Fixin, La Dominode in Savigny-les-Beaune and a large wasteland in Morey-Saint-Denis in the locality ¨En la rue de Vergy¨ formed most of the nascent farm. In 1986, Bruno was entrusted with the vines of his parents, brothers and sisters (Clos de Bèze, Cazetiers, Clos St-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, Clos du Fonteny, Chambolle-Musigny). New vines were added to the operation in 1993 (Corton-Charlemagne, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton) and in 1996 (Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle) to bring the area of the estate to more than 23 hectares. Bernard Clair, meanwhile, also leaves his mark with a remarkable work of selecting and marking the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plants. His long quest unfortunately ended in 2005 but allowed the constitution of an inestimable heritage of fine and not very productive plants which today benefits a new generation of Burgundian winegrowers.
