LEAVE YOUR REVIEWAn excellent wine, probably one of my favorites. This wine is excellent to accompany a piece of beef. A nose marked by red fruits. The tannins are quite powerful. However, you have to be patient before fully tasting it.
A great Saint-Julien in a more modern style than other châteaux in the appellation. Colour of remarkable depth and an explosion of aromas of black fruits. A very nice length. A superb bottle.
Probably the best left bank wine I had this year. Very good concentration and an overall balance that makes it very elegant. The fruit is mature and the tannins are notable, but never invasive. In a few year this wine will be a masterpiece.
Next to Léoville-Las-Cases, Latour and Pichon-Longueville, Léoville-Poyferré is doing its best to defend itself in the race for excellence in an appellation that is not short of challengers. It must be said that the estate is located in the heart of the best Médoc soils. Thanks to the invaluable advice of the famous oenologist Michel Rolland, the vineyard occupies a fine place at the top of the most beautiful Saint-Julien. The wines, deep, full and nervous, can be proud of the complexity of their bouquet and their great ageing potential.
