LEAVE YOUR REVIEWA magnificent discovery with this Madiran from Château Bouscassé. A powerful but perfectly balanced wine. Very complex aromas and very pleasant on the palate, with an extreme finish.
Château Bouscasse is THE value of the Madiran appellation. This is an excellent vintage, ready to drink with great ageing potential. Do not miss the opportunity.
In this 2016, the nuances of blackberries and juniper overcome the impenetrable ruby of the glass, flanked by notes of laurel and smoky, then pass balsamic and more other shades of withered flowers and coffee, licorice and cinnamon.
This Madiran is a very nice discovery. A pure joy during a tasting with duck breast and other specialities from the South West. The 2015 vintage is excellent - as always!
Owned for generations by the family of the inimitable Alain Brumont, Château Bouscassé has given back to appellations lacking in visibility (Madiran, Pacherenc-du-vic-Bilh) a second life. Taking advantage of the unique typicity of the Château's terroirs, the flagship grape varieties of the South-West (notably Tannat) are magnified here. Between elegance and voluptuousness, the estate thus offers remarkably precise and charming cuvées. Definitely THE reference in the wines of its appellation!
