FLEURIE CLOS DE LA GRAND'COUR 2019 - DOMAINE DE LA GRAND'COUR JEAN LOUIS DUTRAIVE

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Beaujolais / Fleurie AOC / 13,5 % vol / 100% Gamay

AB (organic wine)
Freshness and irresistible purity in a temperamental Fleurie with a muscular body!
This Fleurie Le Clos is one-third aged in oak casks, one-third in stainless steel and the last third in oak barrels. This is a wine with a rather rustic side but it reveals pleasant complexity. The nose delivers floral and spicy notes. The palate is characterised by its breadth, vinosity and roundness. The finish is very nice with this spicy side that comes to the surface.

DOMAINE DE LA GRAND'COUR - JEAN LOUIS DUTRAIVE

This estate is one of the oldest in Fleurie and was bought in 1969 by Jean Dutraive. He took over 9 hectares of Fleurie on the Grand'Cour, Chapelle des Bois and Champagne terroirs. He also kept 1 hectare 60 of Brouilly from the family property, five generations old, located in the village of Charentay in Vuril. Jean Dutraive, then president of the Beaujolais winegrowers, was joined by his son Jean-Louis in 1977. He succeeded him definitively in 1989 and currently ensures the continuity of the Domaine as well in cellar, vineyard and trade. This 11.5 hectare family property located in Fleurie (Beaujolais) belongs to the Dutraive family. The Grand'Cour estate produces wines from the Gamay grape variety in 2 appellations: The Fleurie cru (9.7 hectares) The Brouilly cru (1.8 hectares) In traditional cultivation, without chemical fertilizers or weedkillers, little or not filtered, aged in barrels and oak casks, their wines are above all local wines that express the land and the work of the winegrower.
