MORGON - ATHENOR 2015 - JEAN FOILLARD

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Beaujolais / Morgon AOC / 16 % vol / 100% Gamay

A Morgon that is astonishing in its wealth and opulence! Clearly made for ageing, this anthology vintage meets all our expectations...
A tasting that does not leave one indifferent: First of all with a nose of a complexity and richness that immediately gets us into the swing of things... The liquorice notes accompany a perfectly integrated woody note, but is still insistently reminiscent of the maturing and patience it took to create a bottle of this level! Then come the muscular flavours of spicy black fruits and slightly vanilla hints which will accompany us throughout the tasting to give way to a finish that justifies the quality and accuracy of this vintage... The potential for keeping in the cellar of this Morgon is no secret as we might imagine. Discover the best that Beaujolais has to offer!

JEAN FOILLARD

In 1981, he joined the family estate, and made every effort to make his wines naturally good wines. From 1985, he developed his know-how with the famous Marcel Lapierre and began to forge his style by enhancing his terroir. He will also get closer to Yvon Métras, Guy Breton, Jean-Paul Thevenet in Beaujolais and Les Valette in Burgundy. They will then form a group of free and independent winegrowers who are not afraid to break the codes. Jean Foillard has 8 hectares of land on clay-limestone soils. By using a low temperature carbonic maceration, it emerges from it wines rich with fruit aromas, and velvety texture. We invite you to discover its Morgon on which it has built a solid reputation, in particular thanks to its schist plot of the mythical Côte du Py...
