Is it really necessary to buy the first wine from an estate when the second wine is so successful? I would imagine so; not even in terms of budget. It is sweeter and almost as good :)more reviews

Flexibility, freshness and fruit for an exceptional vintage: a divine second wine!
In the heart of the sumptuous Margaux terroir, the second wine of Brane-Cantenac has the same outstanding sub-soil as its big brother: it declines Cabernet and Merlot in the same elegant style, fine and harmonious, but with a more flexible approach. Solar, delicious and very charming, it offers great value for money to discover the Margaux wines!

I haven't tested the first wine, but the second wine has everything a top wine needs, for a price I consider to be relatively cheap. It's the ideal wine for white meat, and should be laid down for a few years more.

I was really disappointed by this wine, which I tasted at Christmas with a stuffed turkey. What is in discussion here is that what would be a good wine at €15, is not so good at €30! This wine is lacking in character and depth. I'd expect more from a Margaux.

CHATEAU BRANE-CANTENAC

Having taken over the estate from his father, Lucien, in 1992, Henri Lurton implemented the fruits of his extensive training and his experience in vineyards across the world. His family's connection with this place was formed by his great-grandfather in 1922. Having weathered generous and more modest years, strong and weak economic conditions, the family remains faithful to the well-defined style that has not been altered by various trends. Château Brane-Cantenac built its name on the 80-hectare vineyard, split into several parcels. One of them, the largest, is located in front of the château and borders the fine hilltop of the Graves appellation.
