LEAVE YOUR REVIEWThis is a well-done and seriously structured rose, but I never really understood Tavel (though I give it a chance every now and then). This is about blood orange, high alcohol and some shy red fruits. I guess it's the appellation of choice when you're not sure whether to open a red or a white. :)
The 17th century Château de Ségriès is one of the oldest estates in the LIRAC appellation. It is located in the heart of nature, in the heart of the vineyard, surrounded by numerous springs (in Provençal "Ségriès" means "springs"), sheltered from plane trees over 300 years old. The Lirac AOC occupies most of the estate, ie 36 hectares (30 are in one piece near the cellar). The Tavel AOC vineyard covers 11 hectares. The land is located around the village of Tavel. With its varied terroir (Lauzes, rolled pebbles, silica...), its very particular sustained color and its aromatic concentration make it a unique wine, a perfect wine for aperitifs and meals, which can accompany many dishes.
