LEAVE YOUR REVIEWNeeds a bit of air, but once it opens up, it's fun, rich and "deep purple". This is a fairly typical Malbec with notes of plum, chocolate, cassis and blueberry, fruity, aromatic and full bodied. Still quite fresh and youthful, but not overly acidic.
Outstanding wine with a very dark fruit smell of blackberry’s and plum. The taste matched the smell and added an all round smooth finish and a wine that I instantly want to taste again.
On the high Andean plateaus of Mendoza with the snow-capped peaks of the Andes as the only horizon, Bodega Catena Zapata produces one of Argentina's most famous wines. The Malbec grape here is perfectly suited to the arid soils of this region, producing full-bodied, smooth red wines with warm aromas of very ripe fruit, spice and liquorice.
