This wine was first offered to me (from a distance) by my son who lives in Brazil and knows Argentine wines well. It can be compared to a very good Bordeaux wine, for a much lower price. I think it has good ageing potential. I have recommended it.more reviews

In Argentina since 1992, the Lurton brothers began as partners in Catena Zapata; soon afterwards, the Grands Crus of Argentinian wines were created. The vines, sitting at an altitude of 1,100 metres, give a very particular style of Argentinian wine: power and fruitiness combined with the aromatic richness of Cabernet Sauvignon. PIEDRA NEGRA (Bodega)

Born from the intention of the Lurton brothers to confront the heights of the Argentinian plateaus of Mendoza, the Bodega Piedra Negra produces typical, fine and elegant wines. The origin of the name of this domaine (which translates in English as "black stone") comes from the very dark earth which constitutes the foot of the Andean mountains and which contrasts with the white snows of the summits. From the outset, this name evokes the difficult conditions in which these delicious wines are produced (height of the plateaus at an altitude of 1,100 meters and therefore high thermal amplitude, semi-desert climate.)
