CLOS LA GAFFELIERE 2016 - SECOND WINE OF CHATEAU LA GAFFELIERE

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Bordeaux / Saint-Emilion Grand Cru AOC / 14 % vol

"It will keep for 10-15 years or more in its purity and elegance!" - Jeb Dunnuck -
Established in 1985, the Clos comes mainly from young vines. It consists of Merlot and Cabernet Franc in varying percentages depending on the quality of the harvest. A pleasant wine that keeps for an average length of time (10-15 years), it goes down more easily in its youth. This crisp and fruity wine with ripe notes and mineral nuances is one of the most delicious. With a lovely breadth on the palate on a tight tannic frame, this Clos La Gaffelière is already tasty and delicious!

CHÂTEAU LA GAFFELIERE

Owned by the Malet Roquefort family, Château la Gaffelière is a very attractive estate in Saint-Emilion. It champions a traditional, yet creamy style without excess with its finesse built into in the second part of the palate. Due to the Derenoncourt consultant team's assistance and some significant investment, the château has returned to its previous great status after a tough time that's now well behind it. A Premier Grand Cru Classé that's worth the detour - it hasn't finished surprising us and it's still available at a reasonable price.
