CHATEAU SMITH HAUT LAFITTE BLANC 2016

0,75 L White Wine / France / Bordeaux wine / Pessac-Léognan AOC / 14 % vol

True to tradition, this vintage is a knockout among Pessac-Léognan wines!
A 67-hectare estate in Martillac in Gironde, the Château Smith Haut Lafitte, which has been classified as a Grand Cru since 1959 under the classification of Graves wines, has the advantage of an exceptional terroir and exceptional expertise. The Günz gravel allows the nutrients that reach the vines to be properly regulated, and the grape to fully express itself. This vintage sports a lovely golden-yellow hue, an introduction to the exceptional nose. Indeed, this vintage offers a superb aromatic bouquet made up of apple, exotic fruits, flower, honey and a touch of oak. The attack on the palate is fresh and ample. The wine then develops with well-controlled acidity and lovely mineral tension. 'This is pure nectar,' according to Neal Martin (The Wine Advocate). A wine you've got to try once in your life!

SMITH HAUT LAFITTE

After careers as skiers, the Cathiard family bought the Smith Haut Lafitte estate in 1990, a real jewel whose name has been one of the most emblematic of Bordeaux wines for several centuries. Driven by the desire to produce one of the best wines in the world and aware of the richness of their Pessac-Léognan terroir, the owners combine ancestral methods (manual harvesting, compost making, ploughing on horseback, total elimination of herbicides) and new technologies. On these same lands, their daughter Mathilde and her husband Bertrand created the first Vinothérapie® spa and the cosmetics brand Caudalie®.
