A medium ruby colour. Stick your nose in and you immediately know it is a Merlot dominated blend. Aromas of cherry, plum and cloves but it's the pepper that stands out. Medium acid, alcohol, body and finish with a little more tannins (med+) than I was expecting. Enjoyable second label Pomerol.more reviews

Definitely some of the best value for money in Pomerol for a superb wine!!
The Seuil de Mazeyres is the first step towards the great wine. Complex and expressive, this wine from young vines planted on low-lying land offers a great typicality and a real maturity. The wine has a brilliant ruby colour and a nose of black fruits and flowers. After a supple and smooth start, the wine has beautiful sublimated energy of a real freshness. The finish is intense and develops roasting flavours associated with black fruit and liquorice... While in place, this superb second wine can be enjoyed now and for the next ten years...

CHÂTEAU MAZEYRES

The complexity of Mazeyres' wines comes from the vineyard's size - 22 hectares - and the variety of highly complementary soils. The clay gravel brings length and finesse, the sandy clay adds volume and fruit, and the clay lends structure to the wine. Château Mazeyres is one of those Bordeaux vineyards whose historic origins is demonstrated by the fact that it is surrounded by urban development. Although now, its long history is less well-known. Bought in 1988 by the Société Générale pension fund, it has been under major renovation works since 1992 which has been reflected in the improvement in its high quality wines - uncommon in the history of a vintage. In July 2020, Mazeyres was acquired by the Guillard family.
