The 11-hectare property, managed by Dominique Raimond, is located in the commune of Saint-Paul-de-Blaye in the heart of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation on south and south-east facing slopes. Château Haut Grela has been managed using organic farming methods since 2018. Facing the Grands Crus of the Médoc, separated by the Gironde Estuary, AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux is home to some of the best and oldest Merlot , Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines in the whole of the Bordeaux region, with a terroir similar to that of Saint- Emilion and Pomerol , the marvellous clay-limestone soil. The wines of Blaye have the best quality/price ratio in the region. Windy, oceanic climate with warm summers and mild winters. The vines grow on a clay and limestone subsoil with a layer of gravel on top. These poor soils give the wines their minerality and the intensity of their aromas.
