Although prices are rising year after year, Raymond-Lafon remains a real favourite. Not a classified growth but one of the best! A small château next to Yquem, a delicious nectar that can be kept for many years.more reviews

Yquem neighbour...but at a small price!
Neighbour of the Premiers Crus Classées of its appellation, Château Raymond-Lafon produces a comparable wine, mostly on the big vintages like  the 2010 one. Of golden colour, it reveals a rich and elegant bouquet of honey candied fruits, warm citrus... Full, dense and concentrated, it perfectly reproduces the typical roasted notes of Grands Crus. An excellent cellering potential, a memorable vintage, a reasonnable price for the appellation: this sauternes has it all!

A very lovely Sauternes! Beautiful golden colour with a delicious flavour with sugary notes. So many flavours of honey, quince and even apricot. A good balance, very lovely finish and very long aromatic length. Excellent value for this vintage.

Exceptional for my humble tasting level. A wine of remarkable quality. Magnificent colour and a lovely flavour and some power due to its sweetness. I thoroughly recommend this wine. Good value for money.

An elegant wine with great finesse. A sound investment for a Sauternes wine that's excellent value for money. It should be noted that the domaine is located close to Château Yquem.

A lovely Sauternes, ripe yellow fruit, extremely soft and ample mouthfeel, but also extremely syrupy. Its ready to drink now, but it could also improve with a few more years in the cellar while the structure starts to resolve itself.

Captivating aromas, followed by an opulent texture and a flavour that reminds me of dried apricots, saffron, honey and passion fruit. Pleasant surprise. Good value for money.

Superb wine, golden colour - brilliant. Complex, refined nose. Well-botrytised with rich notes of candied citrus, honey and apricot. A very smooth attack on the palate, where we found the flavours of the nose aromas. Very long finish. This is far from being the "poor man's Yquem" as is often said.

The Raymond-Lafon is really good. We drank it with a meal and some foie gras. To be completely honest, I found it very similar to a Sigalas Rabaud but at a better price!

CHÂTEAU RAYMOND-LAFON

At the heart of the most famous Sauternes vintages, the vineyard benefits from a remarkable exposure and combines the best conditions to produce a very great Sauternes wine. The property has 18 hectares in appellation, 16 of which are in production. Most of the plots are grouped around the Château, in the towns of Sauternes, Bommes and Preignac.
