LEAVE YOUR REVIEWDeep purple with black fruit, leather and graphite. Full bodied with a blackberry, black currents and herbal tones. Still very young with tannins. Long finish.
One of the best chateuxneuf du papes I have had. Incredible balance and berry fruits. Will last a long time.
Medium+ intensity, complicated nose of blackberry, cassis, plum, black cherry, cedar, tobacco, leather, rosemary, graphite and earthy notes.
Medium(+) acidity, medium+ body with medium+ round tannins, high flavour intensity and long finish.
Great structure and really good balance and ageing potential.
So a bit disappointed with this as it was quite light bodied and smooth with balanced fruit and with a licorice/fennel herbal finish...it lacked body and ultimately was a complete disappointment for its price even on sale - have had better Cotes du Rhone or Vacqueyras
medium and average for a ChdP, but very good at its price, good bargain for a middle class wine. Too much alchool and i am not sure if needs more time in the bottle
This is an exquisite wine - the carefully thought out blend create a harmonious environment for the mouth. Notes of dark fruit pair perfectly with sweet scents of red fruit, vanilla and dried leather. This wine packs a powerful punch and presents itself with a long and firm finish. Magnificent
Pure disappointment... No comperation to one of 2015, that was a balanced rounded taste with leather tones. Unfortunately we couldn`t have finished the bottle. And decided no more buying reduced wine...
Deep purple in color, balanced tannins, peppery blackberry, long aftertaste.
This was the third time, when Xavier Vignon’s Style of winmaking showed high scores and quality for my taste.
Xavier Vignon is one of the most renowned oenologists in the Rhone wine region. He has worked as a consultant to more than 200 wineries in the Rhone Valley and has gained a worldwide reputation for his expertise and collaboration on the best wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He started his own production in 2002, and the winery is now known for wines of exceptional quality and Xavier Vignon's own style of wine, both of which make him a successful winemaker. Elegant and well-balanced wines that beautifully reflect the terroir, because terroir and minerality are the philosophy of his work and not only in wine production, as he also runs an oenological institute, where he explores these aspects. His wines obtain the highest scores in the Robert Parker Guide.
