Beautiful wine which I first tried at a vegan restaurant. It has a unique smokiness to it which I can’t get enough of. Great wine to take to a dinner party due to its drinkability and it’s also excellent value.more reviews

A simple and pleasant way to grow accustomed to the charms of Chilean wines. A real marvel, direct from Chile!!!
Here is a bottle that we are pleased to introduce you to: it is of a deep purple hue, and its nose is fresh and fruity. Its palate proves straightforwardly firm, supple and generous. The spicy finish extends to a beautiful, pleasant length that's full of freshness. The aromatic persistence of this Chilean wine will seduce you...

Interesting Chilean red, lots of body, lots of dark fruits, plenty of structure, but with a green pyrazine note typical for unripe Bordeaux varieties, that is off-putting for some people, myself included. If you like Loire CF, go for this.

Really nice Carmenere.
Medium+ intensity nose of plum, blackberry, black cherry, blackcurrant, liquorice and eucalyptus.
Medium(+) acidity, medium body with medium silky tannins, high alcohol, medium+ flavour intensity and medium finish.
Good structure and balance.

Ignore the description of peppery, which is not really the main feature. Instead, what you find here is a fine deep-red wine that has masses of vanilla, lightness, subtlety and finesse that easily hides the 14% alcohol content. The wine developed as it aired. Recommended.

I've always enjoyed Carmenere and this one did not disappoint. In my opinion Carmenere is one of the best wines from South America and El Grano was a pleasant surprise from Vinatis. I'd definitely buy again.

Lovely purple color. Sweet cherry at nose and also as the main character during tasting. Smooth acidity, light tannins. Young and fresh. Not big classic item, but a reliable choice with fair price/quality ratio.

EL GRANO

Denis Duveau was the owner of the Domaine des Roches Neuves in the Loire Valley, producing under the Saumur-Champigny appellation before moving to Chile to practice the profession of enologist and market the wines he vinifies under the name of "El Grano". Based in the Curico Valley, the vineyard does honor to the Carmenère grape, typical of Chile in red wine, but also to Chardonnay for the production of white wine, a grape that easily permeates the terroir wherever it is found. Chile having been spared by phylloxera, it is mass selection that has been favored as opposed to selection by cloning: this consists of prospecting the aged plots to select only the strains with an interesting variety of grape varieties. The interest of this operating method is indeed to preserve the initial heritage of the vineyards and therefore to keep the authenticity of the final product, as was still the case in France 150 years ago. A search for authenticity that succeeds for the Duveau family!
