This was a real surprise. Deep flavours but remaining fresh. A real hefty punch and yet ideally balanced. I really loved the balance between the two grapes and would probably be even better in a couple of years. Outstanding!
I have been pursuaded that you can't go wrong with any wine of Xavier. A typical Southern Rhone style, with great alcohol integration. Xavier wines deliver from the lowest to their highest value wines.
The Vacqueyras of Romain Duvernay quickly reveals its strength and freshness with notes of red and black fruits. Immediately mouth-filling, it is elegant, rich and structured... It is impressive on the palate and it transfixed our experts! Indeed, the tannins are velvety, skilfully combining strength and finesse... It is magnificent!
Nice GSM!
Medium+ intensity nose of raspberry, cranberry, black cherry, black pepper, cinnamon and leather.
Medium (+) acidity, medium+ body with medium silky tannins, high flavour intensity, long mineral finish.
Quite good structure and great balance. Loved the fruit in this one. Needs decanting.more reviews

I am great fun of wines produced by Romain Duvernay and 2016 is a perfect year for rhone wines. This vacqueras is not as sophisticated as Rasteau from the same year, but it is full bodied with nice tannins with a hint of pepper and licorice.
The Domaine du Gour de Chaulé can boast that it is all female (and has been for three generations!)! Just like her mother and grandmother, Stéphanie Fumoso produces an elegant Gigondas of intense fruitiness. With its ample, silky texture, it is with great indulgence that you discern the presence of dark fruits on the palate, highlighted by mellow, caressing tannins. A treat right now, to appreciate while it is youthfully fruity.
