I loved it! Ryo O. 06/19/2020 Verified purchase

Powerful, black fruit, dark red colour, tannin..these are my keywords to express this wine. Bottle design is fantastic. We enjoyed with beef wellingtons. I would buy one more to age this in my cellar.more reviews

“Delicious on the nose and palate, with fruity juiciness and superb velvety length." Bettane + Desseauve
Château Bonalgue is located north-east of Libourne, on sandy clay soil and a sub-soil of “ferruginous sandstone" typical of the Pomerol terroir. Its history dates back to the Napoleonic era, when a veteran of the Great Army inherited "Graves de Bonalgue". As with the Pomerol terroir, it allows the Merlot to express itself fully. This vine is very common in Bonalgue, representing at least 90% of the 7.55 hectares of vineyards, with the remainder consisting of Cabernet Franc. Bonalgue has a very ripe nose of prunes and growing notes of spices. The palate continues in the same register, generous, full and round, with woody tannins that are already refined. A beautiful Pomerol, frank and generous!
