Located in the beautiful southwestern region of Tuscany in Italy , the Fattoria le Pupille estate is today one of the greatest ambassadors of the Maremma Toscana appellation. Like many estates in the region, Fattoria Le Pupille was originally a small farm living in mixed farming. Wine production was limited to family consumption. The success and international recognition of the Fattoria Le Pupille will be driven by Elisabetta Geppetti, nicknamed "the Lady of Morellino" who invested herself with passion and ambition from the age of twenty to raise the highest standards of domaine. In 1992, Elisabetta Geppetti notably became the first woman president of the Consortium of the Morellino di Scansano appellation. After a first vintage of Morellino Riserva launched in 1982, 1985 will mark an important stage in the life of the Fattoria Le Pupille estate. Alongside Bordeaux grape varieties, Elisabetta Geppetti decided to plant Sangiovese, paying homage to this typical Tuscan variety and making the estate a real pioneer in the Maremma area. The Fattoria Le Pupille estate is the source of exceptional cuvées illustrating all the typicity of the Maremma Toscana appellation.
