Great deep ruby colour, cassis and red fruits on nose and palate - red fruits predominate indicating tome great quality merlot in its construction. Still too firm on tannins for perfection and needs another 3 - 4 years in the cellar. Superb with bleu d'Auvergne.more reviews

'This is an outstanding Ferran—the best I have tasted (thus far!). This comes highly recommended.' - Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate -
Located at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the Château Ferran has been planted with vines ever since Montesquieu owned it in the 18th century. When savoured it unfolds like an elegant, complex, delicate-noted wine. This exceptional vintage won't be the one to change our minds... The wine has managed to draw the best out of its terroir to bring us an intense bouquet of dark cherries and blueberries, with a slight touch of minerality. Rounded and fruity on the palate, with silky tannins, the tasting of this wine extends to an impressive complexity in the finish... This Château Ferran is exceptional!

Tannins are still a bit rough and edgy, but this is a good wine with a lot of potentials. Full-bodied, blackberries, almond, smoke and tobacco. Long, clingy finish. However a bit, young and brash.

Popped and poured July 19. This is drinking well now, no need to keep. Mid-weight, plenty of fruit, smooth tannin. At under £20/btle it represents good value as a benchmark fruity claret experience.
