About Miraval Castle:
- NOTORIETY - Château Miraval is an illustrious estate in many respects, many celebrities have stayed there. The estate was first owned by Jacques Loussier, jazz pianist and arranger, who in 1959 created the trio Play Bach accompanied by drums and a double bass. Its principle is to make Johann Sebastian Bach's repertoire swing, and also the reason for the Play Bach cuvée. Jacques Loussier later built a recording studio on the estate, where the famous Pink Floyd came to record the album "The Wall", thus the Pink Floyd Cuvee Lady Jane and Natouchka vintages were born. The property was sold to Tom Bove, a US citizen, and then sold to the famous couple formed by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. So don't be surprised, during your next stay on the Côte d'Azur, to taste the organic wines of Château Miraval on all the great tables of the French Riviera.
- COTES DE PROVENCE - Château Miraval has produced a Côtes de Provence certified AB (organic) since the beginning of its wine production. The red, white or rosé wines of the estate are concentrated and expressive, marked by aging according to their vintage, they were already famous for their quality before the arrival of all these personalities.
- THE VINEYARD - The Miraval estate, situated at an altitude of 350 metres, extends over 400 hectares, more than 40 of which are devoted to the vineyard. The vines flourish on the valley floor, protected by the surrounding forest, they occupy a blessed space of the Gods where water, priceless wealth in Provence, flows in abundance. The traditional dry stone remains have been perfectly restored in the old style and contribute to the beauty of the site. The oldest vines of the estate are from the Cinsault grape variety, this particular strain is the one that gives the distinctive flavour and elegance to Pink Floyd's rosé wine. The remaining vineyards are divided between syrah/shiraz, grenache blanc, cabernet sauvignon and grenache noir, with part reserved for Rolle grape variety of the Terre Blanche cuvée, a plot facing south. The grape varieties of Château Miraval are selected according to the elaboration of the cuvées.
