When Martin Tesch took over the parental cellar in 1997, he immediately began to reorient it completely: The vineyard area was reduced to 19 hectares in order to cultivate only the best sites - and almost exclusively with Riesling . Since then, no more chemical additives have been used in the vineyard and no artificial improvement of the wine cellar has been made. So at Tesch Winery you will only find fully fermented and natural wines that clearly reflect the character of the sites. The five sites could hardly be more different: Besides their orientation and the inclination of the slopes, their soil is extremely diverse, from silty loess interspersed with shell limestone, to clayey soil and weathered soil of red sandstone, passing through the soil. volcanic, everything is represented there. No wonder Martin Tesch was named Winemaker of the Year 2012 by the FAZ, in addition to countless awards.
