LEAVE YOUR REVIEWA touch of smoke & pepper on the nose and a wine that has the tannic grip very much softened by the Grenache base. Flavoursome plum and cherry on the palate, this is a very good wine, that will probably peak 2022 - 2025. Definitely recommended.
Nice Lirac!
Medium intensity nose of black cherry, plum, green bell pepper, black raspberry and hints of cured meat and minerals. Medium (+) acidity, medium (+) body with medium silky tannins, high alcohol, medium+ flavour intensity and medium(+) finish. Quite good structure, nice fruit and balance.
This dry, deep and spicy Lirac is confident and tasty. Blueberry, vanilla and blackberry notes are dominant. It will also get better with time I suppose. I recommend it without any hesitation.
Light nose with aromas of strawberries, plums, blackcurrants, vanilla. The wine is dry with high tannins and alcohol and with a long sweet finish. Very good wine from Alain Jaume...
Lush fruit, well-balanced, soft tannins. Perfect for anything, really. Soft enough for pizza but would stand up well to grilled meats. Shows why Rhône is a powerhouse.
Utterly delicious. This wine is worth every penny. It has depth and complexity with a sweet cherry note that seems to last and last. In a word... superb.
A collaboration with Mordoree, this Lirac has great depth and balance. Powerful fruits such as blackberry and mulberry and met with a depth tanin base. This is great value for money and will keep in the cellar for many years. A wine to rival its big brother, chateauneuf du pape over the river.
quite powerful in mouth; medium ruby and body. Medium acidity and soft tannins. Floral, spice at nose. earth, mushrooms notes with a nice and long finish - lovely
Fabulous wine. My favourite Xavier Vignon. Why splash out £30 on a CNDP when you can back this spicy treat for much less! Lots of plum, dark cherry and pepper. Fabulous!
A bit robust at first so give it more than one hour when you open the bottle. More on the earthy than fruity side, with some black fruit. Fairly boozy so beware.
Purple in colour, clean, light nose with aromas of smoke, tabocco and black fruits. dry, full body, high acidity, tannin and alcohol. Balanced with good flavours odf dark berries, blackcurrant, plum, tabocco, marzipan and cedar smoke. Long finnish. well done and raccomended.
Southern Rhône Lirac 2016. 15% abv. Medium ruby colour. Nose of dark cherries, cassis, herbs, meat. Taste of dark fruits, spices, black tea, meat, liquorice. Powerful tannins, mild acidity. Long finish.
Absolutely like! Great qpr!
⭐ 4.1
Ripe berry fruit and flowers in the nose. It drinks well, with ripe fruit and smoothness. However, I expected a lot more for the price of this organic Lirac. Perhaps it needs two or three more years before opening
Since 1826, the Jaume family decided to cultivate the vines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but it is above all since 1979, thanks to Alain Jaume, that the estate has experienced a real boom, with the creation of the Grand Veneur estate. Covering 78 hectares on both sides of the Rhône, the family produces Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Vacqueyras and Lirac. Benefiting from one of the most beautiful terroirs in the region, the children, Sébastien and Christophe, take up the torch with dignity, working to ensure the prosperity of the estate through sustainable cultivation and meticulous work resulting in rich and powerful wines, but not devoid of finesse.
