LEAVE YOUR REVIEWThis was a real surprise. Deep flavours but remaining fresh. A real hefty punch and yet ideally balanced. I really loved the balance between the two grapes and would probably be even better in a couple of years. Outstanding!
I have been pursuaded that you can't go wrong with any wine of Xavier. A typical Southern Rhone style, with great alcohol integration. Xavier wines deliver from the lowest to their highest value wines.
Good stuff! This wine as well as other Liracs I tried before, share a fruity, fresh and balanced character without being too fruity/sweet, and offers wonderful value.
this was my first purchase in this store, and it was very successful. every bottle bought, including this one, was worth its price. I am very pleased and I will definitely come back :)
This is typical lirac from a good vitage and produced by a famous Xavier Vignon. Vignon's wines have often too much tannin for my taste, but customers will enjoy this lirac's distinct mixture of oak, dark fruit and tobacco.
Nice ruby colour. Black currant and ripe cherry on the nose. On the palate a nice balance of black fruits, medium acidity making it fresh and robust, medium tannins and cacao at the end. Though immediately enjoyable, 30-60 minutes decanting is recommended.
I have had this wine on many ocassions and never disappoints. It is excellent value for money. Has a complex and enticing nose with long spirited after taste.
An exceptionally smooth fruity wine throroughly enjoyable with no sharp after taste. I am liking Lirac apellation, i may need to try a few more for balance. Recommended
Xavier Vignon is one of the most renowned oenologists in the Rhone wine region. He has worked as a consultant to more than 200 wineries in the Rhone Valley and has gained a worldwide reputation for his expertise and collaboration on the best wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He started his own production in 2002, and the winery is now known for wines of exceptional quality and Xavier Vignon's own style of wine, both of which make him a successful winemaker. Elegant and well-balanced wines that beautifully reflect the terroir, because terroir and minerality are the philosophy of his work and not only in wine production, as he also runs an oenological institute, where he explores these aspects. His wines obtain the highest scores in the Robert Parker Guide.
