Château de Vaudieu is the flagship of the Bréchet family. It spreads over 70 hectares of the greatest terroirs of the appellation, and in a rare occurrence, all its parcels touch each other. Its grandeur is matched only by the infinite finesse of its terroirs, where the sands dominate and chisel out very "haute couture" wines. For several centuries, Vaudieu has been one of the most prestigious estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape , which, under the impetus of the family, is tending to regain all its former glory. The Château de Vaudieu, located in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, was built in 1767 by Admiral Gérin, lieutenant of the Marseille Admiralty. It is one of the three authentic 18th century chateaux in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It was under the impetus of Gabriel and Juliette Meffre that the vineyard acquired its current size with 70 hectares within a radius of 450 m around a two hundred year old Cedar of Lebanon, the privileged host of the 18th century Château. In 1987, their daughter Sylvette Bréchet took charge of this magnificent property. She was joined in 1990 by her son Laurent. Thanks to their involvement, the cellar was modernised in order to accommodate separately the 32 parcels of land that had been redefined in order to get the best potential from each terroir. The elegance of the Terroirs de Vaudieu, thus revealed and sublimated, has allowed the reputation of the estate's wines to grow over the years. Laurent Brechet, surrounded by a team entirely focused on quality, continues this meticulous work with respect for the terroirs and this privileged environment, giving birth to the prestigious cuvées "Val de Dieu", "Amiral G" and "Clos du Belvédère".
