CHATEAU VALANDRAUD 2014 - 1ER GRAND CRU CLASSE B

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Bordeaux / Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé AOC / 14,5 % vol

Hailed by the press, discover one of the appellation's most unusual estates!
The Château Valandraud was born of the considerable efforts of a passionate couple, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud. After finding unequivocal success as négociants, their ambition was to own their own vineyards and make their own wine there. In 1989 they acquired a small 0.6-hectare plot in the Saint-Émilion valley. Today the estate owns nearly 10 hectares of land, the vast majority of which are located in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse in the Saint-Émilion appellation. Château Valandraud was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 2012 classification of Saint-Émilion Grands Crus. This remarkably precise, intense and harmonious vintage should be left for a little while longer... but what a bottle it is already!!!

CHÂTEAU VALANDRAUD

Fruit of the considerable work of a couple passionate about wine, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud. Château Valandraud was born in 1991 on a 0.6 ha plot bought with all the savings of the couple. The château was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 2012 classification of Saint-Emilion Grands Crus. Today the 8.88 ha of the estate are now entirely located on the clay-limestone plateau of Saint Etienne de Lisse. The average age of the vines is 30 years, the oldest over 50 years. The wine undergoes ageing in new barrels for 18 to 30 months. The prices of their wines quickly reached those of the appellation's Premier Crus, and Robert Parker's notes exceeded those of Ausone and Cheval Blanc in 1995.
