At the end of the 19th century, Gratien Mayard hesitated to go into exile in the United States following the phylloxera crisis, but the love of the land took over! Reconstructing his vineyard vine by vine, he helped make his heirs the owners of a prestigious estate. Today, the Mayard family and their team ensure the management and modernity of the estate. This magnificent vineyard covers 43 hectares of vines including 2 large islets, one of 21 hectares located to the south of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation on the place called "Grand Coulet", the other of 8 hectares located at the 'East, on the famous "Crau" plateau. The entire estate includes around thirty plots spread over a wide variety of soils, some of which have been planted for over a century.
