An original and surprising whisky. It is characterised by floral and fruity notes, then the taste evolves on the palate with salty notes and then heavier tobacco notes. A real discovery for this beautiful product of the Scottish Highlands.more reviews

Malt, iodine, salt, woodfire and fruit: unique!!!
The Oban distillery is one of Scotland's oldest. Huddled in the hollows of the cliffs, the distillery has gradually seen a real little town rise up around it, and therefore finds itself on the present-day main road! Oban is the capital of the West Highlands, a strategic point between the mainland and the islands. This peaty, pure malt, 14-year-old Scotch whisky can only seduce you: mellow and fragrant, it gracefully mixes the peaty notes of the islands with the fruity notes of the Highlands. Lovers of strong sensations, this pure malt is made for you!

A whisky that we like very much, very good quality to price ratio and easy to access. At one time I could find it in supermarkets, but not anymore. A sure value.

A very pleasant smoky note on the palate, excellent for tasting with friends who like good bottles, but I like more peaty whiskies.

My favourite whisky that you can no longer find in supermarkets. This whisky is not peated and it is excellent, I highly recommend it. To be drunk in moderation, of course.

OBAN

The multiple owners of the Oban distillery through the years have all contributed to a tradition of hospitality and participation in the local community. This dates back to the brothers John and Hugh Stevenson, the founders not only of the Oban distillery but also the city itself.   They were both from the region. Their mother had left Port Appin on the death of their father, a stonemason, to come and settle there. Together they founded a shipyard and a tannery, and in the 1790s a brewery which became the Oban distillery in 1794. The next two generations of Stevenson continued to look after the family interests in Oban. They remain a community driven distillery, which our own community on vinatis.co.uk can appreciate
