Since 2009, the Deneufbourg winery has produced quaffable organic wines abounding in delicacy and lightness - wines to share with friends. In their 100% Marselan single-varietal, the winery showcases an unusual variety with characteristic aromas of small dark berries. On the palate, this cuvée releases a frank, fruity and tart attack framed by complex aromas of Morello cherry and a touch of liquorice. An unusual grape and a pleasant surprise. An almost Chianti-esque structure and sour cherry juiciness, but with much softer tannins. Holding up quite nicely for a 5-year old bottle so it's not quite a lightweight either. Lovers of Beaujolais Cru wines should appreciate this.
