CHATEAU SIGALAS - RABAUD 2009 - 1ER CRU CLASSE

White Wine / France / Bordeaux / Sauternes AOC / 14 % vol

"It's a wonderful wine, the pinnacle of the estate - so far" - Robert Parker -
The weather conditions were particularly favourable for this vintage. An alternation of wind, rare and sufficient showers, allowed a harvest both abundant and of high quality in which is found balance, power and purity. This Sigalas Rabaud is an elegant golden yellow with green reflections, with a seductive nose of citron, candied lemon and honey. After a soft and mellow attack, we discover a vivified “airy” liquor. The finish concludes with a fine acidity which gives balance and length to the whole. A "legendary" wine: one of the greatest successes of this vintage... A top-notch achievement which will thrill discerning lovers of great Sauternes.

CHÂTEAU SIGALAS RABAUD

Created in the 17th century, the land of Rabaud was acquired in 1863 by Henri de Sigalas. Forty years later, his only son, Pierre Gaston de Sigalas sold most of it. He kept the whole of the gravelly ridge facing south, “the jewel of Sigalas”, ie the current 14 hectares. Today, the Lambert des Granges family, heir to Château Sigalas Rabaud, continues the tradition of respecting the terroir and selecting wines to produce a great Sauternes.
