In 1980, when he was only 19 years old at the time, Vincent Girardin, son of a wine-growing family from Santenay since the 17th century, decided to stand on his own feet by exploiting the 2 hectares of vines inherited from his parents. After having tested everything he did in terms of oenology during the 1980s and 1990s, he subsequently returned to the most natural vinification possible which has earned him his success. Today, the estate covers 20 hectares in the vineyards of Burgundy : 42 plots spread over 8 municipalities of Côte de Beaune. In 2012, Vincent Girardin decided to turn the page, without risking endangering the high quality level of his wines. Because if the vines have been sold and the house taken over by the Compagnie des Vins d´Autrefois, the structure remains in place, as does the technical team. The current manager, Eric Germain, is also Vincent Girardin's ex-right-hand man.
