The Absolut Vodka story starts in XIXth century in Sweden. In 1879 Lars Olsson Smith launched "Absolut rent Brävin": "an absolutely pure vodka", thanks to a continuous distilling process. This revolutionary technique consists of distillation applied ad Infinium. This method remains unchanged nowadays. As a tribute to its creator, L. O. Smith' portrait adorns the bottle's medallion and production remains in Åhus, his home town.
